Relief provided to fire victims
ITANAGAR, Dec 10: A joint team of Galo Students' Union (GSU) and West Siang District Students' Union (WSDSU) distributed relief materials to the Dec.4 fire victims of Doji Jeko village under Bagra Circle on Wednesday.
GSU President, Binya Ronya also contributed Rs.30000 to the relief and rehabilitation committee of the village. While urging both the state government and the district administration to sanction adequate funds as relief to the victims, Ronya further appealed to the villagers to reconstruct their houses at a safe distance from each other to minimize the damage in case of similar incidents in future.

ITANAGAR, Dec 10: The Nyishi Elite Society (NES) today alleged that Governor JP Rajkhowa is indulging in pick and choose policy by ignoring impeachment motion moved against Deputy Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and only allowing the impeachment motion against Speaker Nabam Rebia. ANSU seeks Governor’s ouster from Arunachal
ITANAGAR, Dec 10: The All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) has written to President of India seeking immediate transfer of Governor JP Rajkhowa from Arunachal.
In its memorandum, Union alleged that Governor, who hails from Assam, is working against the interest of state.
“The two states have contentious border issues for many years and it continuous till today. In such situation public statements and position taken by the governor shows a clear case of Conflict of Interest; which will hamper development of Arunachal Pradesh” the Union said.
He has written a letter to Prime Minister of India, requesting him to develop the Airport in Lilabari (Assam) in lieu of a Green field Airport at Hollongi in Arunachal Pradesh. This is very much detrimental to the future development and prosperity of Arunachal Pradesh, the ANSU alleged.
While demanding transfer of Rajkhowa, ANSU added that his continuation will led to conflict of interest and social unrest. They also alleged that Rajkhowa is damaging the image of Raj Bhawan.
“The Present Governor is directly interfering in the day to day business of the state Government and he is trying to become an extra constitutional power center in connivance the opposition political parties, all such his activities are in the full public view. He is acting like the opposition leader which is against the interest and development of Arunachal Pradesh,” the union added.
Vodafone, Airtel bring smile to Seppa as BSNL fail subscribers

ITANAGAR, Dec 10: The private telecom service giants, Vodafone and Airtel have brought smiles to citizens of Seppa, the district headquarter of East Kameng as the companies launched its services on Sunday. With launching of Vodafone and Airtel, the citizens in Seppa Township and its adjacent areas are freed from erratic and poor network service being provided by BSNL. Sources from Seppa informed The Arunachal Times that private telecom service providers have installed three BTS towers in the strategic and feasible locations in the headquarter. It also added that there is rapid growth of subscribers of both the service providers.

The state owned telecom company BSNL has bad image in the district for its poor services. The citizens under the aegis of East Kameng Social Welfare and Cultural Organisation (EKSWCO) at many occasions repeatedly expressed displeasure over poor and erratic service of BSNL in Seppa. The people accused the BSNL of indifferent treatment towards the district, claiming that despite being one of highest subscriber base, the BNSL failed to provide 3G services to the district.
It is said the BSNL had installed three BTS towers in the town, however only two are functional leading to congestion in network.
In a statement, Vodafone stated that with the launch of superfast 3G services, Vodafone customers in Seppa will be able to experience a whole new world of faster, smarter and better network connectivity and mobile internet experience.
PASIGHAT, Dec 10: The Adi Baane Kebang East Siang Unit has requested the East Siang district administration to declare Dry Days in the district during the year end and beginning of the New Year.
A team of ABK ES unit led by President, Okom Yosung and Women Wing President, Yalem Taga Burang in a memorandum to the East Siang Deputy Commissioner has appealed for the declaring the Dry Days from Dec 24, 2015 to Jan 5, 2016.
The ABK unit stated that due to closing down of wine shops during the period last year, there were no reports of deaths due to reckless driving or violation of law and order.
Further, the ABK unit has also appealed the DC to regulate rentals of the houses and keep records of all occupants to control crime. Further, stating that boys and girls living together as tenants often cause problems as it suggested for separate accommodation for boys and girls.
Govt concerned over rising Pawan Hans crashes
NEW DELHI, Dec 10: Government is "concerned" over the rising number of crashes involving choppers of public sector company Pawan Hans, Lok Sabha was informed today.
"Yes...," Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma said in reply to a question whether the government is concerned about the frequent crashes of Pawan Hans Helicopters in the country.
He was also asked about the remedial steps being taken by the government in this regard.
To another query, the Minister said five accidents of helicopters belonging to Pawan Hans Limited have taken place in the country during the period between 2012 and November this year.
The pilots of Pawan Hans are mostly taken from Defence Forces and they are trained as per Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) rules, he said.

The pilots have also been given training at France, Russia, HATSOFF at Bangalore, he said adding, the instrument rating of pilots is also carried out by DGCA approved examiners.
Besides, periodic safety audit of bases is conducted as per DGCA guidelines, Sharma added.

ROING, Dec 10: DDSE Roing, Mijum Lego has called upon the parents to look into the welfare of their children and to keep an eye on them to see that they are attending the classes regularly and not indulging in unlawful activities.
Lego was addressing an event in Govt Secondary School at Jia today.
He also appealed to the parents to cooperate and support the teachers in their endeavour to maintain discipline in the school and also to look into the local problems faced by them so that the teachers posted in the area may do their duty sincerely.

ZIRO, Dec 10: Expressing resentment at teachers absenting themselves from work, Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner, Kanki Darang has warned that they would not be paid salaries.
The DC was speaking at a meeting convened to review the education scenario and implementation of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan of Raga Block at his office today.
The DC directed the BEOs and the BRCCs to submit dully countersigned attendance registers to the DDSE every month and insisted that the BEOs of the concern block should regularly inspect schools and assess the performance of the teachers.

Taking stock of the toilets constructed under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the DC emphasized on maintaining quality work. He directed the DDSE to form a committee to assess the quality before making the payments to the contractors.
Speaking in the meeting, DDSE Yumlam Tana requested the PRI members present to assist the government in improving the education scenario at remote places, since the elected members are the guardians of these areas. Regular monitoring by the school management committee and honest reporting to the concerned authority alone can stabilize the education scenario, he added.
ADC Raga, Millo Kojin, ADC Ziro, Nending Chatung, BEO Raga, Arun Murtem also spoke their views on issues like lack of proper planning for construction of school infrastructures, lack of feasibility report, lack of furniture’s, teachers and teachers quarters etc. during the discussions.

Over 500 benefit from health camp
BOLENG, Dec 10: Over 500 patients were distributed medicines free of cost during a Siang Health Mission and District Health Society Siang conducted health camp here today. During the camp 32 patients under went ultrasonography while, 110 patients underwent eye screening.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Health Services Dr. M Jini informed that the objective of the health camp is to provide quality health care services to the needy who require surgery and future follow up at their door steps.
Also present on the occasion was Boleng ADC, Taro Mize who, interacted with the DHS and DMO Siang on CMUHIS and urged them to conduct mop up round at the earliest.

He further added that during NEFA times people of Greater Kameng were one and lived together as brothers and sisters and the event was a small effort to recreate the nostalgia and bridge the gap through the bond of badminton.

A new concept for Arunachal
In an interesting move, the Itanagar Municipal Council (IMC) is launching prepaid parking system for private and commercial vehicles within Capital Complex from December 11 onwards. The IMC claims that this move has been initiated in order to regulate the parking of all private and commercials vehicles within Municipal areas. This is first time that any municipal body is launching prepaid parking system in the state. Even though it might be a new concept for Arunachal but prepaid parking system is followed in various cities across the world.
The cash strapped IMC will be able to earn much needed revenue from this initiative. Also the prepaid system will come handy in tackling the issue of finding parking space. Today it has become very difficult to find parking space in sectors and colonies of capital complex. Adding to it, the wrong parking along national highway often causes massive traffic jam. However with the introduction of prepaid system, IMC will be bound to regulate the parking within their jurisdiction. They will collect fees and therefore it becomes their duty to ensure that vehicles are parked properly. Also the revenue generated from it can be used for improving the basic amenities. As this is a new concept it might take some time for people to understand. People of capital complex should support this initiative of IMC.

Lacking health care system

Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to highlight the plight of the Community Health Centre (CHC), Nacho. The CHC Nacho is one of the five CHCs of Upper Subansiri District but it neither has sufficient number of manpower nor infrastructure. The Community Health Centre has been functioning with only 18 to 19 staffs in total including a single doctor who is a homeopathic practitioner.
In almost all the time, these staffs remain absent from the facility. In the CHC

As per the rules of the Indian Public Health Standard (IPHS), in a Community Health
Centre (CHC), there should be at least one Block Medical Officer or Medical Superintendent,
one Public Health Specialist and a Nurse, General Surgeon, Physician, Obstetrician
and Gynaecologist, Paediatrician, Anaesthetist, Dental Surgeon, one Medical Officer-
Despite all these conditions of the CHC, the concern authority is showing lackadaisical attitude towards the health centre. They always fail to feel the peoples’ pulses. Since its inception, the CHC Nacho does not have the fate of having plural number of doctors. The authorities always post a single doctor.

For medical services, the people of these areas come to this single CHC at Nacho as the other two Public Health Centre: one at Limeking and other at Taksing have no doctors and other medical staffs, and the District Hospital Daporijo is far from the reach of common and poor people of the areas. Therefore, CHC Nacho is the only lifeline of the people of these four most backward and border circles. But the concerned authorities are reluctant to post even a doctor to such a health centre where the lives of more than 25 thousand population are dependent.

please post at least two to three doctors and sufficient nurses to the Community
